About Me

This "new to the blogger scene" artist is not your typical gal. Creative crafts, mathematics, sports, fashion, and hair styles runs through her mind on a typical day (at work)! She is a sister, a daughter, a friend, and an optimist. She definitely carries a mountain of stress on her shoulders. This is an environment where everything goes and where she will literally let her hair down...

I'm BaaaAAAccckkkkk!

Oh my dear blog! I miss you long time! Even though I am a newbie at blogging, I miss it. I think the void I've been feeling has been a result of my absence. I'm not gonna do that anymore. You might ask, "where have you been"...Well I've been busy with life and the routine that accompanies it. School and work just sucked the life out of me. Definitely think that I need to find a balance, somehow. I gotta get me groove back!

So when we left off I was on my way to Washington, D.C. Well it did happen! LOL. I had a blast there while visiting one of my best friends. Here are some pictures:

With only four full days of exploration, we got a lot accomplished. There are so many places I did not see. On my next trip I need to go to the Pentagon Mall, Georgetown, The Jefferson Memorial, The Pentagon, The White House (inside!), and more! Well you gotta start somewhere, right? Enjoy

I Blame My Newly Purchased Camera on My Trip to D.C

Anyone that knows me knows that I have a spending problem. I don't have a spending problem like the women on the Real Housewives of (fill in the blanks...because it's all of them broads). I, on the other hand, have a problem with actually spending money. I dislike it! I would like to see the money accumulate in my account and never use it. Ehhh...but money is meant to be spent, so I'm learning to swipe more often ;). I recently bought a Digital Camera for my trip to D.C. $$$$$$This time, I didn't have an anxiety attack. Wahoo. See, I'm getting better. Shopping can be therapy.

In less than a week I will be boarding a huge ass plane (maybe it's not really huge) to go to the East Coast. I've never been to the East Coast...Heck or anywhere really (don't judge me...I'm sheltered). LOL. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have no idea what to expect but I do know that it will be HOT!! Nonetheless, I'm hyped that I have the opportunity to experience a new environment and culture.

I definitely need this vacay!!

Project Summer 2010...Well what's left of it!

It's official! I have a couple of weeks until school starts. Yuck!!!!! I need more time so I can go to the beach, Griffith Park, random outings. I'm going to make the best out of the free time that I have left. This includes projects. Oh yes...the dreaded projects that I have been running away from for months. Don't get me wrong, I want to do these projects...I just don't know how to start or maybe I'm afraid to start something that I might not finish because I suck at it. So I'm holding my self responsible for doing one project before I go back to school.

Now you might be thinking...what kind of projects are you talking bout? Just freaking do it! Lately, I have been teaching my self how to sew. So far, I have made an apron and a purse. Yay me!!
So I'm going to use this blog as a platform to help me stay on task (SIKE). Lol
Projects I'm going to do...

1. Sew a skirt
2. Sew a clutch purse
3. Make coffee filter flowers (with watercolor paint)

After making this list and glancing at it...I quit already....FAIL

Stay tuned to see if something gets done (if so you'll see pictures).

Music to my ears...Or not!!!

I don't care what anyone says! Music is not what it used to be!!! I can not really tell you where the change began, but goodness, the meaning of music must be lost somewhere in cyberspace. My friend and I have plenty of conversations when it comes to the type of music that is selected to be mainstream and the brilliant music that is forgotten (not played) that in return, becomes tomorrow's next pile in a landfill. I hardly listen to the radio and my playlist is full with artists such as Talib Kweli, Dwele, Lupe Fiasco, Little Brother, Slum Village, Floetry (all courtesy of Fundamental). :)

I had an opportunity to listen to music that the greater mass enjoys to listen to. First thought: "What in the heck! Anyone can make a track!" Second thought: "This is exactly why I don't listen to music of this type. Wackness!!" If I could, I would have jumped out the car that was keeping me prisoner for 4 hours. Aaaaah...

I don't think that people listen to the words of their favorite songs OR people just don't care about what the artist is expressing. Any who, I just wonder how we are going to get back to that good music. That music that touches the deepest parts of soul, the music that leads to baby making, and the music that expresses what a majority of people aren't able to speak of.

Maybe I'm just getting older, or I am just DIFFERENT!! Well if that's the case, bring the grey hairs and name calling on! I'm not going to change my taste for ugly nasty music. I just keep thinking...it's gotta get better (maybe when the shit hits the fan).

BTW...Lauryn Hill is making a come back and Kanye's new song is dope (yay!)

Vegas Bound!!!

So I've noticed that everyone in my circle of people are going to Vegas. I am not one to jump on the bandwagon...but I too am going to Vegas! Haha. I really think I have been out of the loop. I haven't been to Las Vegas since I was a teenager (with my parents!). Ehhh I don't really care!!! LOL. After years of living the life up in college (not really), I noticed that I don't care to go to clubs just to sweat out my hair and get hollered by some guys. Not to mention...get shot at. Oh yes!! I've seen it all. I'm 25...and I know I'm done with that scene.

Anywho, I am accompanying my good friend on this mini-vacation that we both need.

I have been asking people what to do in Vegas (besides gambling, drinking, and clubbing). I am more into sight seeing but wouldn't mind a couple clubs here and there. I don't want to sleep then club, then do it all over again the next day.

After some research I have found plenty of things to do! If you are ever in Vegas and want to do more then you might want to check out the following attractions:

At this art gallery, you will find fine art from private collections and from internationally known museums.

This is a display of colorful flowers, trees, ponds, and gazebos. The pictures look nice.

Here you can take a train ride for 45 mins! You get to hear the history of Boulder City and the Hoover Dam!!! This sounds the coolest to me :)

Blue Man Group

Beatle Show Tribute

Cirque du Soleil Shows

And of course...
There are the clubs. I've been hearing a lot of Club XS

I'm definitely looking forward to experiencing more than what is expected in Vegas!!

Until then...
